How can I enroll?
Registration starts on:
- Wednesday 4th of March 2026: Summer School 1 en 2 - ONLY for (former)students PXL-MAD
- Tuesday 10th of March 2026: Summer School 1 - for everyone
- Wednesday 11th of March 2026: Summer School 2 - for everyone
On these dates, a link to the registration form will appear at 10 AM. First come, first served. Want to be sure to get a spot? Make sure you're ready to register.
Summer School 1
- Dates: Tuesday 18th of August - Friday 21th of August 2026
- Teachers: Merlijne Marell and Manuel Marsol
Summer School 2
- Dates: Tuesday 25th - Friday 28th of August 2026
- Teachers: Brecht Evens, Leo Timmers and Octavie Wolters

When is my registration complete?
Once you have completed the registration form, you will receive an e-mail with a payment invitation. You have 3 days to pay. As soon as we have received payment, you will receive a final registration certificate from us. It may take a few days before we receive your payment.
If the workshop is full, you will receive an e-mail from us asking if you would like to be put on the waiting list.
Who may participate?
Everyone over 18 years old! Are you interested in illustration and would you like to refine your talent? Are you an illustrator looking for inspiration? Or do you want to take the step towards a professional career? Everyone is welcome to participate. The groups are often a mix of professional illustrators and participants with a passion for illustration.
Where can I stay?
You have to book your stay in Hasselt yourself. There are many nice options in Hasselt. You will receive a 10% discount at the following places if you mention that you are participating in the Summer School: Ibis City Centre Hasselt - mail to HC440@accor.com and mention SUMMERSCHOOL 26 (Thonissenlaan 52, 3500 Hasselt), Hotel Hemelhuys (Hemelrijk 15, 3500 Hasselt) en Hostel H (Spoorwegstraat 80, 3500 Hasselt).
To claim the discount, simply mention that you are a Summer School participant when making your booking.
For participants Summer School 1: music festival Pukkelpop will take place from 20th-23th of August 2026. Check your travel route in advance and take road diversions into account. Are you staying overnight in Hasselt? If so, many accommodations may already be fully booked this week.
The workshop is full. Is there a waiting list?
Yes, there is! Just like the registrations: first come, first served. We also take the order of registrations into account with the waiting list. We always let you know which place you're at. Please note that a place may become available quickly or at the very last minute. We cannot guarantee that a place will become available.
Can I register for two workshops at the same time?
No, you choose one workshop. If you register for two workshops at the same time, we won't know which one you prefer and you risk being left out.
Can I register for a workshop of Summer School 1 and Summer School 2?
Yes, that's possible! View the dates and programs of the mentors on this page. Keep in mind that you have to fill in the 2 subscription forms.
I can no longer participate in the workshop. What do I do?
When you registered you agreed to the cancellation policy.
- If your payment and registration have been completed but you can no longer participate, always contact Villa Verbeelding first via reserveren@villaverbeelding.be. We will contact the next person on the waiting list.
- For every cancellation, we will charge an administration cost of € 70. If we can find someone to take your place via the waiting list, we will repay the rest of the registration fee. In case there is no other participant available, we will notify you that you can look for someone to replace you yourself. We kindly ask that this person contacts us as soon as possible to take care of the registration.
- In case of cancellation less than 1 month before the start of the Summer School, restitution is no longer possible. Participants pay the full registration fee, also in case of a no show or when leaving the Summer School early.
- Villa Verbeelding has the right to cancel the Summer School in case of insufficient subscriptions or unforeseen circumstances (e.g. illness of a mentor). In that case participants will get a full refund of the subscription fee.
