All this is possible during the Summer School Villa Verbeelding: 4 days of intense drawing under the guidance of top illustrators. They share their passion and experience, show concrete examples from their own work and help you refine your technique.

After the course day Villa Verbeelding plans interesting (and free) activities.
1. Visit Villa Verbeelding
The temporary exhibition and the permanent exhibitions De ABC kamer and De Illustratiekamer. You can find huge illustrations by these illustrators in De Illustratieroute on walls throughout the city of Hasselt. Buy books by your favorite illustrators in the museum shop.

3. Illustration Festival De Verbeelders
De Verbeelders festival will take place in CCHA (Hasselt) on Saturday, 29th of August 2026. This festival is dedicated entirely to illustration. Information and tickets will soon be available on this website.
More practical info
Transport and parking
PXL-MAD School of Arts (Building C, Elfde Liniestraat 25). At the train station you can take several buses to PXL-MAD School of Arts (stop Elfde Liniestraat). If you come by car, you'll find different parking lots within walking distance. Click here for more info.
We expect you in building C. On the first day, doors are open from 8:30 AM.
Where to eat?
Bring your own lunch or explore the city! Close to PXL-MAD School of Arts, you can have lunch at Bermudas Beach Bar, next to the swimming pool Kapermolen. You'll find supermarket Albert Heijn close to PXL-MAD.
Where to sleep?
You have to book your stay in Hasselt yourself. There are many nice options in Hasselt. You will receive a 10% discount at the following places if you mention that you are participating in the Summer School: Ibis City Centre Hasselt - mail to HC440@accor.com and mention SUMMERSCHOOL 26 (Thonissenlaan 52, 3500 Hasselt), Hotel Hemelhuys (Hemelrijk 15, 3500 Hasselt) en Hostel H (Spoorwegstraat 80, 3500 Hasselt).
To claim the discount, simply mention that you are a Summer School participant when making your booking.
For participants Summer School 1: music festival Pukkelpop will take place from 20th-23th of August 2026. Check your travel route in advance and take road diversions into account. Are you staying overnight in Hasselt? If so, many accommodations may already be fully booked this week.

Cancellation policy
There are limited spaces available for this Summer School. Therefore, we would like to ensure the participation of the applicants. By registering you agree with the cancellation policy.
- If your payment and registration have been completed but you can no longer participate, always contact Villa Verbeelding first via reserveren@villaverbeelding.be. We will contact the next person on the waiting list.
- For every cancellation, we will charge an administration cost of € 70. If we can find someone to take your place via the waiting list, we will repay the rest of the registration fee. In case there is no other participant available, we will notify you that you can look for someone to replace you yourself. We kindly ask that this person contacts us as soon as possible to take care of the registration.
- In case of cancellation less than 1 month before the start of the Summer School, restitution is no longer possible. Participants pay the full registration fee, also in case of a no show or when leaving the Summer School early.
- Villa Verbeelding has the right to cancel the Summer School in case of insufficient subscriptions or unforeseen circumstances (e.g. illness of a mentor). In that case participants will get a full refund of the subscription fee.
